The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was reopened for traffic after two days on Saturday evening, but no movement from either side will be allowed on Sunday and only stranded vehicles will be cleared.

A massive landslide had struck the highway near Digdole on Thursday, after which the highway was closed for vehicular traffic.

Thousands of trucks have been stuck en route to the Kashmir valley for past two days.

Though the landslide has been cleared from the highway despite intermittent rain, but the authorities have decided not to allow vehicular movement from either side.

Officials said over 1,500 trucks and 600 light motor vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road in the Ramban belt and that would be cleared on priority.

They said after clearing the stranded vehicles, one-side traffic would be allowed on the highway from Monday.
